Cemetery photos
I just put up a large group of pictures I took in January at a cemetery in Tuoloumne County, in California's gold country. This cemetery dates from 1852 and has a mixture of old and new gravestones. Here's the link to the whole set.

An especially pretty one

An illegible one - why did they pick that stone, and use that loopy writing? When I look at the biggest size I can make out "Richard Thomas B-something" and some dates.

I'm entranced by the stone engraving here, in all its variety. The stone for J.M. Ayer is probably my favorite, with that iconic upward-pointing hand, but they're all fascinating.

Also, now that I've seen the whole set, who's putting plastic flowers in front of the headstones from the 1800s? Also, what's up with that happy dumping ground?
